About Us

With over a decade of experience in the wellness industry as a board-certified nutrition specialist, health coach, and nutritional genetics professor, I’ve been privileged to help diverse populations achieve their health and wellness goals through simple nutrition and lifestyle changes. I’ve worked in a number of settings, everywhere from an office setting at a Fortune 500 healthcare company to serving as a nutrition educator and kitchen manager at a wilderness therapy company, and even as a rites-of-passage facilitator in Western North Carolina for young men in early recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.

I’ve teamed up with my wife Charlotte who has over a decade of experience teaching people of all ages and skill levels how to navigate the local food network and prepare foods in a simple, sustainable, and delicious way. In addition to being a culinary instructor and recipe/menu developer at Whidbey Nutrition, she is also responsible for marketing and event coordination for Whidbey Island Grown.

Working with Us

If you have never worked with a nutritionist before, it may be helpful to know that we would start working together in a similar fashion to other healthcare practitioners. During a 1-hour intake appointment, I would review your health history, allergies, family history,  medications, goals, barriers, etc… With his information, I will come up with a customized, comprehensive meal plan that you can follow to ensure that you achieve your health goals. I deliver this meal plan along with other relevant recommendations (e.g. lifestyle, exercise, sleep, supplements) during a 30-minute follow up appointment. After completing your initial intake and educational session, we could then follow up at a regular cadence (e.g. once a week, biweekly, once a month) for 30-minute check-in appointments and help you fine tune your strategy to overcome any challenges preventing you from reaching your goals.

These are our standard one-on-one offerings, but we also offer in-home cooking lessons and are always exploring new offerings (e.g. group coaching).
